How about a bath in blue waters facing the Detroit skyline? Not into swimming? No worries, would you rather visit an aquarium? The Belle Isle Aquarium was designed by the famous Albert Kahn. It opened in 1904, and it is the oldest aquarium in the country. Though small, if you love architecture, this is a must see. The Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, just outside the aquarium, is also a great place to visit. In a few steps, you will get acquainted with trees and flowers from the jungle trees and cactus from the desert.
Fishes and Aquariums are too boring for you? No worries, there is no shortage of activity in Belle Isle : rent a bike, walk nature trails, grill, rent a canoe, a pedal boat, a kayak, a stand-up paddle board…. And a lot more !
